Eucharist

FirsT Communions

Each year, there are multiple ways for Christians, non-Christians, and other Catholics to receive their First Communion.

Children

For those who are 13 and younger, they may attend a Catholic School to receive their catechesis (usually 2nd grade) or PSR (Sunday School). Classes for PSR are currently Sunday mornings at 10:00 am during the school year. Look for more information each August.

Adults

For those who are in High School and above, the path to Eucharist is OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, formerly known as RCIA). This class meets weekly starting each Fall and culminates with the Easter Sacraments of Baptism (when applicable), Confirmation, and Eucharist. Classes are currently Sunday mornings at 10:00 am. Look for more information each August.

From Pope Francis

The Eucharist, although it is the fullness of sacramental life, is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak. These convictions have pastoral consequences that we are called to consider with prudence and boldness. Frequently, we act as arbiters of grace rather than its facilitators. But the Church is not a tollhouse; it is the house of the Father, where there is a place for everyone, with all their problems.
